THE FULL STORY
KG IN THE MAKING
My passion for renovation and design started when I was just a kid—no older than six. My mother, recently divorced and raising five boys, transformed our small childhood home into what I now call a Fine Design. I watched in amazement as she remodeled the entire house while working three jobs and raising us on her own.
Our home started as one of the smallest in the neighborhood, but by the time she was done, it was the largest—expanding from three to five bedrooms, adding a chef’s kitchen, a massive primary suite, and a fully finished basement. My mother believed in living comfortably, and her vision and determination shaped the way I see design today.
Growing up, I was surrounded by raw materials, tools, and constant change. My mom had an eye for design and a knack for making the most of what we had. I’d wake up to find entire rooms rearranged—living spaces repurposed overnight. Inspired, I started doing the same, roping in my brothers to help me redesign and reimagine our home. By the time she finished the basement, she even built a tool room stocked with everything imaginable—at least two of every tool.
Later, I pursued architectural design at a vocational high school, graduating at the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA. I competed in a state AutoCAD competition for technical drafting, winning first place for designing a structure. After graduation, I started a small business designing luxury outdoor spaces, but my passion for home renovation always pulled me back.

THE STORY
OF THE CRAFTSMAN
Wood working sparked in me as child through all of the exposure of remodeling and design from my mother. When I became an adult I found myself wanting to be creative in my own living spaces and incorporating some type of wood in the designs of my home. When I moved to Atlanta and got my first apartment, I came up with a renter friendly way to make my office space incorporate some type of wood accent feature. Everyone loved it, and wanted some type of wood feature wall in their home as a result. The interesting thing about it was, I didn't feel like doing these wood features was work... Rather, it was fun and brought peace to me. Thats when I knew that I was doing exactly what I was suppose to be doing.
I found myself wanting my home to look like no one else's, and the best way I knew how was to create some custom wood pieces to accent my space. Over the last 10 years of living in Atlanta, I've had 6 different places I've moved to before I found my home. Every place was custom, every person that walked in my home all had the same reaction, amazed at how I used wood to create custom livable spaces, and wanting me to come and do theirs next.
To this day, I find my self using wood in mostly all of my designs. Wood is manipulative and transitional, you can form it into many shapes and create so many different types of art and furniture pieces from it, and that's why I love working with woods so much. I title myself a craftsman because I am skilled in my abilities to produce beautiful masterpieces using God's natural element, Wood.
